Downloading an Entire Book

Why?

Each book on this site is comprised of many HTML files (typically one for each chapter).. Reading the books requires an active connection to the Internet, so that the reader may access each subsequent chapter. The Zip archive for each book places all the files needed to read the book in a single "packaged" file which may be easily downloaded. Once this file is on your computer, you may read the book at your leisure, without connecting to the Internet.

How?

Simply click on the link [Download entire book] on the Table of Contents for the book you wish to obtain. You will be prompted to "Open" or "Save" the file. Choose "Save" and select a location on your hard drive. Once the book is downloaded, the expander software should automatically extract the files into a folder in the location you selected. If you need expander software, click here.

To read the book, launch your Web browser software. If you are prompted to connect to the Internet, cancel. Now choose the "Open file..." command from the "File" menu, and locate the folder for the book. Open the file labeled "index.html."

Notes

Some features of the website have been disabled in the downloadable books. You will not be able to use the search function, and cross referencing between volumes has been removed.

The Zip archives are provided "as-is," and the Doorway Papers website and its custodians make no warranty regarding the usability of said files, nor do they assume any responsibility for damages resulting in the use of said files. Always scan downloaded files for viruses and accept files only from sites which you trust.
