Description
Dr. Custance penned a wealth of literature that has blessed Christians world wide, but he wrote very little about himself. At the insistence of many of his ‘fans,’ Evelyn White, Arthur’s long-time administrative assistant, friend and colleague, wrote an account of Arthur’s walk with the Lord. This walk is an example of the sovereignty of God quietly ordering the circumstances of one life to prepare His child for an appointed task. It is an amazing story of a young man born into the privilege of English aristocracy, to be sent at the age of 18 to desolate rural Ontario to work as a farm hand. Quite to his own surprise he became enrolled in the University of Toronto, but before graduating, he took on the role of a summer preacher for the Anglican Church in a small charge in Saskatchewan, then stayed with his new wife, Lillian, to serve as the minister. Unfortunately, the depression forced them back to Toronto, but by God-directed events, he was able to continue his education to become a Greek and Hebrew scholar, an anthropologist, a research scientist in a high-level human physiology laboratory for the Canadian military, and a writer.
