This volume, Volume I of the Doorway Papers Series, contains five Doorway Papers that provide an overview of the world after the Flood, of how the three sons of Noah and their wives re-peopled the world, establishing cultures as they spread over the earth. Based on the Table of Nations in Genesis 10, Custance shows how the descendants of each of Noah’s sons possesses particular attributes to meet the needs of civilization at three fundamental levels—spiritual, physical, and intellectual. And history bears out the uniqueness of each of these racial stocks in a remarkable way. Dr. Custance provides in detail the evidence for the technological genius of Ham (Negroid, Mongoloid), the intellectual character of Japheth (Caucasian, Indo-European), and the spiritual qualities of Shem (Hebrew, Arab).

In the last section, Dr. Custance elaborates on his belief that the key to the existence of our universe lies in the facts that God wished to show forth His love, which the angels have never comprehended, without at the same time surrendering His holiness, which they do comprehend. God’s plan was therefore to prepare humankind to be redeemed by the Incarnation and Self-sacrifice of the Creator Himself on our behalf. In this way was it possible to God to manifest His love for His creatures without diminishing His holiness.
